Who We Are
In 1978, Frank Befera, Chris von Rabenau, and Stephen Sydow met as students while attending Holy Rosary School in Duluth, MN. Over the course of the last 33 years they have remained good friends and shared their lives with one another. They have worked on some projects together for their High School in Duluth including the building of web sites and producing videos for their 20th and 25th reunions, philanthropic work for the development department, and volunteering to contact alumni to get involved with projects at the school.
Frank is an administrator with the Befera Law Group in Duluth and has a background in information technology and radio broadcasting.
Chris is the Director of Information Technology at National Cooperative Grocers Association’s headquarters, has an information technology background, and owns a small business in Duluth.
Stephen is the Vice President of Operations of a family shipping business and has a background in city administration.
Immediately following the disaster in Japan, the three were discussing what they could do to help. The conversation turned to the children. All three have children of their own and imagined what the disaster would be like if their own children faced the wrath of disaster.
Out of this was born "Orphan Relief". A plan to get immediate assistance to Japanese children.
With their diverse backgrounds in shipping, administration, information technology, and media they knew the expertise to immediately help was at their fingertips.
Their goal is to get direct and immediate help to the orphans and displaced children of Japan.
